As we pass through mid-October, the garden is looking increasingly autumnal. It’s still very mild, though, meaning stuff is still growing, and with the rain, some plants still look surprisingly green. I’ve been tidying up a little, but with the mild nights we’ve had, there has been no need to bring anything else indoors. According to the weather forecast we have a couple more weeks without frost ahead.
Here’s what’s lingering in my pots and plots.
SixOnSaturday is curated by Jim at Garden Ruminations, and you can find the participation guidelines here.

1. My wife picked out this little yellow daisy, Sanvitalia or Creeping Zinnia, on our annual bedding plant trip to the garden centre this Spring. It’s done really well and still giving out joy. It has definitely earned a place to overwinter in the conservatory, but at the moment, it’s still thriving on the patio.

2. Just near the Sanvitalia are these couple of Agaves. The one on the left is hardy and just has to not get too soggy. The one on the right will need to be brought inside whenever the weather decides to cool. I have loads of seedlings potted up from the variegated one, at the bottom of the garden, but I fear they may not make the cut for indoor space.

3. I featured this cyclamen a few weeks ago. I do like the pink flowers, but better are the almost reptilian leaves that appear a little after the flowers. They’ll be adding interest to the garden through the winter.

4. The first plant to flower in my garden is this KoJo-No-Mai miniature cherry. (Ok, maybe some snowdrops, but this one is the first real show). It also goes out early in a blaze of Autumn glory.

5. A little behind the cherry is the melange of maples, or an army of acers, whichever you prefer. They’re not looking their best. The summer was tough for them, but the vibrant reds are coming through.

6. An acer and an autumnal Amalanchier, an alliterative augmentor, to continue the theme, for my final photo. The Amlanchier is not doing its best either. Not sure whether that’s the heat of the summer or the fact I had it trimmed this time last year. Possibly both.
That’s it for this week. See you next time, and thanks for looking at my #SixonSaturday
